Mandate
To develop a pressurized suspension box to capture the shape of a foot and integrate a complex electronic system into a simple and interactive product.
Objectives
To offer the best in digital foot scanning technology for anyone who needs a foot orthotic. Few people have a perfect foot biomechanics and sometimes they need assistance to correct it. Our client, Cryos, an expert in the manufacturing of traditional orthotics for many years, has decided to drastically modernize the process of taking measurements and manufacturing foot orthotics.

Approach
In this project, our strength was to combine our technical expertise in simplifying assemblies, our ability to optimize the usage scenarios and integrate the product into the target user's environment. CryoScan 3D digitizes the foot instantly and accurately while allowing the podiatrist to visualize his work in real time on his monitor.
The system’s various configurations allow the caption of the foot’s shape when it is at rest or under full load. The pressurized suspension box simulates the morphology of the foot in full action. The simple and comforting shapes of the CryoScan 3D also contribute to the easy interactive use of the device.
Results
Gold winner of the European Product Design Award, this product is recognized for its simplicity of use and its relevance in the daily life of podiatrists. The CryoScan 3D is a bowl of fresh air, making the traditional and artisanal methods of taking footprints and making orthotics a thing of the past.
